Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Has Gone…

June 18, 2026. Ubisoft's remake of its most beloved pirate adventure just cleared its last big hurdle. Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced has gone gold, meaning development is finished and the game is locked for its July 9, 2026 launch on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

The milestone was confirmed by the official Assassin's Creed account on X, with the series' trademark sense of humour:

"In a world GONE GOLD, we're gonna be heroes! July 9th is fast approaching, who's ready to set sail?"

You can read the post on the official Assassin's Creed X account. "Gone gold" is industry shorthand for a finished master build, so barring a last-minute issue, the July 9 date is solid.

This is a full remake, not a remaster

Ubisoft has been clear about the scope. Per the official product FAQ, Resynced is "a remake, rebuilt from the ground up on the latest version of the Anvil Engine, based on the original Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag." That brings ray-traced lighting, a 60 FPS target on PS5 and Xbox Series X, new parrying and crouch mechanics, and fresh story content built around figures like Blackbeard and Stede Bonnet. It launches on PC via the Ubisoft Store, Steam, and Epic, and ships in Standard, Deluxe, and Collector's editions.

The smart move while you wait

A brand-new remake commands a brand-new price, and Black Flag Resynced currently sits around $37.93 at its cheapest tracked store. That's reasonable for a ground-up remake - but it's a world away from where the rest of the series lives right now. If you've never finished the modern Assassin's Creed RPG trilogy, this is the cheapest possible time to catch up before setting sail again.

Should you pre-order Resynced?

If Black Flag is a comfort-food favourite and you want it in 4K with ray tracing on day one, the remake is an easy yes. Everyone else loses nothing by waiting: launch prices on Ubisoft remakes tend to soften within a few months, and the older games are already at giveaway levels today.
